Ode to The Poet and His Book
Innocence lost of mortal tales donned
doth remind the scholarly patron,
thou are built of arbitrating character
through but a flip of oscillating chance.
On one hand the earnest pupil
embracing the illustrious intoxication
of wondrously affairs cosmopolitan,
On the other being scorned saturnine
poisonously soothing as midnight dour,
abruptly wailing as the moonlight chime.
The rarefied reminder of putrid pistons,
a fair but cruel mistress of desperation's dance,
in fond remembrance eternally smitten
denied further musings of graceful glance.
